The finalists for the 2026 ACS Aged Care Adviser of the Year Awards have been named.
Each finalist has been put forward for the quality of their aged care advice at a time when the rules keep shifting, and clients keep asking harder questions. Since the Aged Care Act reforms took effect on 1 November 2025, navigating through the rules has become more complicated, and often with anxious families making rapid decisions.
“Being named as a finalist is significant, as it recognises that a panel of industry experts have looked closely at your work and decided it stands out. This recognition is rewarding, especially as so much of the best work happens quietly, one family at a time,” says Assyat David, Director of Aged Care Steps.

The categories
Entries were open across two categories:
Aged Care Adviser of the Year recognises an individual adviser who has shown outstanding professional commitment to providing aged care advice to older Australians and their families.
Aged Care Advice Initiative of the Year recognises an adviser or advice business that has actively promoted aged care advice among its clients, referral networks, peers or local community.
How the finalists were chosen
Every entry was assessed by an independent panel of industry experts: Phil Anderson, Sue Viskovic and Andrew Inwood.
