Assyat David - Director

Assyat has over 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry.  She is co-founder and director of Aged Care Steps with responsibility for growth and direction of the business, aiming to help advisers to build and develop a profitable aged care advice service.

Her career commenced as an investment specialist and developed into more strategic and executive management roles.

Assyat was also co-founder and previously a director of Strategy Steps. Prior to establishing Strategy Steps and then Aged Care Steps, she was Executive General Manager, Financial Services at Trust Company (a listed trustee company) where she was responsible for the businesses servicing retail and intermediary clients. The divisions included in these businesses included financial planning, estates and trusts, estate planning, philanthropy, personal injury, Trust Lifestyle Care (a power of attorney service) and funds management.

Assyat also held roles as a consultant at Challenger/CPH and on the Board of a number of Challenger’s distribution businesses. At ING she looked after the shared services for the ING distribution businesses, and prior to taking on that role was Head of Research and Technical at RetireInvest and a portfolio manager for the multi-manager and multi asset class portfolios at Optimix.

Assyat has been a Chair of a Masters subject and a lecturer at Finsia as well as the Treasurer/Director at the Prince of Wales Hospital Foundation.

Assyat’s academic qualifications include Master of Applied Finance (Macquarie University), Bachelor of Commerce (University of New South Wales), Diploma of Financial Planning and Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance from Finsia (Financial Services Institute of Australasia).
